The Fair Work Commission has updated the casual and overtime clauses in most awards. This means that some casuals employees will receive a lower rate while some will be entitled to a higher rate from the first full pay period on or after the 20th November.

Changes in the awards include how casual and overtime loadings interact, whether casuals are entitled to overtime and when overtime applies. These changes clarify how a casual is paid and adds clarity to current confusing rules around causal pay.

The impact of these changes may mean an increased rate for some of your casual employees, so be sure to check the list below to see how your casuals’ pay is affected.

If you are unsure on how to interpret the changes, you can use the PACT tool on Fair Work Website, or give our team a call. Pay guides are also a handy guide for your award
